Entry fee is $10.
Distribution is as follows: 1st place gets $35, 2nd place gets $15, BMTG gets
$10.
First game of the season is Thursday, September 4, 2003.
Draft:
Draft was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2003. There
is a total of six owners, with BMTG members getting an automatic entry. The
draft began with each BMTG member drafting a lifetime franchise. This draft
pick will be guaranteed to that owner each and every season. The draft order
from that point was determined randomly. At the end of three picks, non-BMTG
members drafted one team to make the total number of draft picks for each
owner at four. The remaining teams were assigned randomly to each owner for
the fifth and final pick. The end result is that each owner has five NFL teams
and there will be one dummy entry with two teams. Each owner will make their
rosters by taking players from their set of five teams.
Owners not able to attend the draft can submit their list of desired teams, to be revealed one team at a time during the draft. Owners not physically at the draft will automatically draft last. Owners that do not submit a list of teams to draft will be allowed to choose from the undrafted set of teams.
Roster Positions:
2 QB
3 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 K
1 Team Defense
Roster Restrictions:
Rules in effect for weeks 1 to 3:
Rosters must be set by midnight the night before the first game of the week.
For example, if the first game is on Thursday, all rosters must by set by
Wednesday night. There shall be a maximum of three players from any one team.
Each team must be represented by at least one player (not including Team Defense.)
A team in its bye week does not have to be represented on that week’s
roster. There shall be a maximum of two roster moves per week. One move is
considered to be the releasing of one player and the signing of a replacement
player. These moves are non-cumulative, so if you only make one move, the
extra move does not carry over to the next week. Each owner shall e-mail their
roster moves to the other owners.
Changes to roster moves will only be allowed for a certain period of time, determined as such: if the Tokyo stock market goes up, you will have time to change. For example, if the Tokyo market goes up 3.5%, then the owner would have 3.5 hours after the submission of the original move to make a change. If the market goes down, then no changes can be made. It will not be known until the next day if the market went up or down, so owners should be prepared for changes to be rejected. If the changes happen on a weekend or holiday when the markets are closed then there is no grace period.
Rules changes beginning with week 4:
1. The maximum number of players from each team requirement has been dropped.
2. Each team must still be represented by at least one player, but that one
qualifiying player can not be a kicker or tight end. Team Defense does qualify
for the one player minimum.
3. The maximum number of roster moves has been raised from 2 to 4 moves per
week, still non-cumulative.
Injury Exceptions:
A maximum of one injury exception may be granted per week. To qualify for
an injury exception, the player in question must be listed as “doubtful”
or worse (“questionable” does not qualify). All inury exceptions
should refer to the player's official injury status on NFL.com
or CBS Sportsline. If
qualified, that player can be moved from the roster without counting toward
the two move maximum.
Trades:
Trades between owners will be allowed, but must by approved by a
majority of owners to be considered valid. Proposed trades may be submitted
via e-mail or proposed at the wiffle. Owners will vote on the trade at the
wiffle. Owners not present will not be counted in the voting.
Rules Violations:
Owners violating the rules shall be subject to sanctions. Before sanctions
are determined, the accused will have a chance to defend his transgression,
with the exception of non-BMTG members, who will not have a chance to defend
their position. Sanctions will be recommended by the BMTG Senior Council and
must be approved by a majority of owners. Non-BMTG members will be given additional
sanctions for questioning the Senior Council.
Sanctions may be appealed by filing a 1st Level Appeal for a $3.00 filing fee. All 1st Level Appeals will be denied within 30 days. 2nd Level Appeals (final level) can be filed for an additional $3.00 and will be reviewed within a 12 month period. All appeals must be filed in the proper format and the filing fees are non-refundable.

Last Man Standing rules:
Each week pick one team that will win their game. If you are correct, you continue to play the next week, if your pick loses, you are out of the competition. The catch is that you can only pick a team once during the season. Whoever lasts the longest wins. No money is involved in this competition – play is for bragging rights only.
