July 21, 1997: Gil Sighted at Local Taco Bell
Sacramento,
CA -- Gil, a.k.a. "Public Access Man", was spotted just before
noon at the Taco Bell in downtown Sacramento on the K Street Mall. While verbal
contact was not established, this marks the first time anyone has ever actually
seen Gil in person. It is unknown what he ordered, but it was "to go"
and he helped himself to a bag full of Fire Hot hot sauce. He was wearing
a Sacramento Gold Miners hat (backwards) and was carrying an old backpack.
He had a pair of work gloves hanging out of his back pocket.
Gil did not dance, but he had the walk and the talk. He displayed the attitude as only Gil can, walking the same way he walked after his stirring rendition of "If You Don't Know Me By Now". His final words to his buddy that was with him as he was about to leave were, "Ready to roll?"
